CES 2013

It happens once a year in Vegas all the big GEEKS come out to experience and show off their very cool technologies to other business leaders and media.

CES (Consumer Electronic Show) started as COMDEX (Computers Dealers Exhibition) 46 years ago in New York.  If you’re one of the lucky ones to go and experience the show you’ll have to admit it’s a time to experience and interact with the tech leaders and learn what is going on in the World.

This year there were a variety of very cool tv’s.  Samsung showed their transparent, curved and giant 85 inch & 110 inch screen tv’s.  The hottest gadgets, auto tech, mp3 players, camera’s, smart phones & tablets and this years highlight the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800!  I’m sure alot of geeks like myself wasn’t thinking anything special about ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 800’ but as soon as I got to experience the real deal in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 theatre my mind was blown away.  The theatre was seated for 9 people each with our own leather chairs attached with DTS headphones.

In the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Theatre we got to experience the HDMI connection from a mobile tablet that played a 2KHD of Pacific Rim, Star Trek on a big screen.  Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor  is capable of decoding 4K ultra HD in real time which is 4 times the resolution of what can be seen.  Snapdragon 800 can actually not only decode it can also encode 4K HD in real time.

DTS teamed up with Qualcomm at a project called ‘Project Headphone X’.  Its mission is to recreate an audio visual emersion in your own personal space.  What exactly is 7.1 DTS audio?  It’s a 3 dimensional audio effect thru your headphones.  All technology happens right at the Snapdragon technology.

Snapdragon 800 processor is the only quad core processor being developed with an LTE meaning devices with this chip set are going to be designed to be mobile multimedia powerhouses to HD content in conjunction with this Project Headphone X on your smartphones and tablets.

Check out the video below and experience what it’s like to be in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Theatre and oh enjoy the photo’s below from CES exhibition floor.
