Shiny Otaku’s new shiny gadgets

I’ve been quite busy with the shiny new iPad. I know a lot of you said not to buy the iPad don’t do it don’t fall into that Apple trap. Well, I have one thing to say about the iPad – Awesome! It does what I need it to do for minimal work. Minimal work meaning I can carry numerous books and read them anytime anywhere, I can watch my favorite movies, listen to music for hours, manage my schedule and contacts, play awesome games (Real Racing HD, Iron Man 2, Crash Kart, Linkin Park 8Bit Rebellion, Resident Evil and so much more), keep photo’s with me, when I have wi-fi access I can stay online for hours till I fall asleep  – oh it’s already happened) I can check emails, get on my Netflix and watch what I want, use my social media apps, listen to the radio worldwide, work on my microsoft documents, check weather, watch YouTube, use Maps to find out where I wanna go and not get lost – hello I’m half Asian I do get lost sometimes.

It can’t run flash but you know what Steve Jobs is right add flash and everything slow downs. He designed and had this iPad programmed without flash to work with no hiccups and at super speed. Does the iPad need a web camera? I say no – why would you want to have one when you have smartphones – in less than 30 days the iPhone 4 will be coming out with a front camera for skype users and for conference calls – that’s another shiny gadget I’ll be getting my hands on. Will the iPad be able to use programs like CS5? -No. That’s why there are computers like the MacBook Pro and iMac for designing and programming. I don’t believe the iPad will overtake laptops/desktops but it surely helps when on the go and wanting to do minimal work.

Not only is the iPad super fast it’s easy to manage and weighs only 1.5 pounds and the battery life – OMG what a dream I don’t have to constantly plug that baby it really does last for a very very very loooooooooooooong time…Super cool!

So, I am happy I didn’t wait for other tablets – I thought of waiting for the HP tablet and others to come out but after reading the reviews I knew the iPad is for me.  I hope this helps change some peoples mind the anti Apple peeps I mean.  If you’re thinking of buying a tablet do your homework and go with your instincts.  Happy geeking – iPad signing off now.
